Nathan Sprangers - Music Instructor/Dorm counselor

Nathan is a resident of Downeast Maine, having lived in the area since childhood. As a musician he has performed on saxophones and clarinet in musicals for Bucksport High School and The University of Maine at Machias. In 2012 he provided technical direction for the Bucksport Middle School production of Kilroy Was Here. He's since co-directed Willy Wonka, Jr (2013) and Beauty and the Beast, Jr (2014) for Bucksport Middle School. He also volunteered for Northport Musical Theatre camp's 2013 production of Little Shop of Horrors, providing vocal coaching and performing as the voice of Audrey II. In addition to his theatrical positions at the Bucksport school system, he advises the newly created VEX Robotics club at the middle school. Nathan is no stranger to summer camps as he brings with him over ten years experience working at Camp Roosevelt, a Boy Scout camp located in Clifton, Maine. At age 15 he started as a staff member and over the years was promoted to Nature Lodge Director and then Program Director. There he piloted a Webelos Overnight program where scouts age 9-10 were paddled across Little Fitts Pond in 20 foot "war canoes" to a rustic campsite where they practiced scout skills, camped in canvas tents, and cooked over an open fire. Outside of camp, Nathan enjoys hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and camping in the Maine outdoors. This will be Nathan's 5th summer at camp.
