Bonding Time
One of the special things about camp is that it’s a place where lifetime friendships are forged. While our activities give campers a chance to be with likeminded kids of all ages, we provide other times for the whole camp to come together as well as special dorm-floor bonding time.
TRIP DAYS
Two trip days per session add great fun and excitement to our camp routine! The whole camp goes together, usually to a state park where campers swim and relax with their friends.
FREE TIME
After our last activity period, campers come together in an open area to enjoy a relaxed free time. You’ll see campers doing everything from playing an informal game of soccer or Frisbee, to hanging out with their friends and making friendship bracelets.
MEALS
Each dorm floor eats together at several tables. Just like at home, meals are always a great time for bonding!
EVENING ACTIVITIES
Each night after dinner campers look forward to coming together to see all their friends and participate in the evening activity. Sometimes the whole camp is together, and other times campers can choose from several fun offerings. The grand finale for each session is a beautiful campfire complete with songs and S’mores!
CLOSING CIRCLE
After evening activity campers and counselors get together for some meaningful bonding time in their dorm. Everyone gets to share, usually about a topic such as “what was your favorite moment today?”
One of our counselors shared this with us after a final night closing circle:
“I wish you could have heard all of the wonderful things that were said about this place during closing circle tonight. You should both be so proud of the atmosphere that closed out camp this week. We had more tears tonight than I have ever encountered, but more importantly, every kid felt like this was the best place and the best group of people they’d ever been around. It was such a special week, and left all of us feeling great about what we do here!”
